Tractor and Machinery Operator Certification Schools
This program is conducted for boys and girls who are 14 and 15 years of age and plan
to be employed off their home farms. To be certified participants
must satisfactorily complete the 24-hour course. They need to show
their ability to safely operate a tractor. They must also pass a
written examination.
Age Requirements:
Participants are to be 14 years and older. Youth 13 years of age who
will be 14 during the summer may attend a school. These individuals
receive their certificates when they have their 14th birthday.

PARTICIPATION IN NATIONAL EVENTS
Citizenship
Washington Focus (CWF)
Spend a week in Washington DC. See the sights and
learn about our government in action. CWF is held in June or July for
youth ages 15 -19, and is open to any youth who apply. The cost is
approximately $1500. Registration deadline is March 15.

National 4-H
Conference
Have a voice in the 4-H Program! National 4-H Conference is a week-long program held
at the National 4-H Center near Washington, DC. Its two purposes are 1)
to involve youth in 4-H program development, and 2) to strengthen and
continue development of 4-H public relations programs. The National
Conference also provides opportunities to make new friends and see the
sites in our nation's capitol. Applications are due August 1.

National 4-H Congress
National 4-H Congress is held in November-December,
but the location varies. Congress is held in Atlanta,
GA.
The program provides opportunities for education, cultural enrichment,
and service learning. Applications are due August 1.
