Matches run from:                           Entry Sheets need to be turned in by:

     January 1 - April 30                      May 15th
     May 1 - August 31                       September 15th
     Sept 1 - December 31                  January 15th

Score sheets turned in after these dates will not be considered part of the shoot.

Entry fee: $3.50/shooter to be paid when score sheets are mailed in. This fee will be used to help offset awards. Entry fee must accompany score sheets or they will not be scored and considered part of the shoot.

Eligibility: All currently enrolled North Dakota 4-H Shooting Sports members between the ages of 11 and 18 are eligible. (Ages determined as of 1 January of current year.)

Age divisions: Age divisions are determined by the 4-H member's age on January 1 of current year.

Number of Shots: Each contestant must shoot 100 targets. Practice prior to or after the declared record shots are fired is permitted.  The required targets may be shot any time, but they may not be repeated to better the score. If a shooter is entered in both trap and skeet, the required targets for each may be shot on separate days. Record rounds must be declared before they are shot, not selected from a series of rounds after the fact. Unless interrupted by events beyond their control, the entire series of shots for each age class should be fired on the same day and in successive rounds if the shooter is capable of completing them without excessive fatigue.  If however, the shooter has insufficient stamina to fire four rounds successively without degrading their performance they may shoot a single round, rest and come back for remaining rounds after a break.

Targets:  Standard clay target will be used.

Number of Shoots and Course of Fire Rules:

1. Current 4-H Trap and Skeet Rules apply (see state rules).
2. Adequate ear protection (plugs and/or muffs) required of all persons on the firing line in all 4-H shooting sports activities or events.
3. Adequate eye protection (tempered prescription glasses, shooting glasses, or industrial safety glasses) required of all persons while on the firing line.

Reporting Scores: Coaches are to keep scores and record on the ND 4-H SSP Trap and Skeet Postal Match form.

Scoring directions: Any part of a clay target that breaks off will be considered a hit.

Team Competition: All teams will consist of four members and all four scores count towards the team score. Here are two divisions: JR and SR. The division is determined by the age of the oldest team member (as of January 1). Team entry fees are $1/team. There is no limit to the number of teams a county may enter.

Awards: A Gold, Silver and Bronze metal will be given to each participant.
