This is an easy to make fabric pouch that will hang on
your belt. Make it out of denim (cut up an old pair of
jeans and recycle! Or use heavy rip stop vinyl for a
waterproof bag.

Materials, Tools and Directions:
3/8 yard
of heavy fabric, pins or iron on hem tape, sewing
machine
- Cut one piece of fabric 8" x 12" and one piece
8" x 7 1/2". Lay the short piece over the long
with one of
the short edges even, and use the
pattern to
cut the corners off the bottom edges of
both pieces.
- On the long piece, measure 7" up from the
bottom and make a 1/2" clip at either side. (Optional:
You
could make a pencil line across the fabric from
one clip to another on the wrong side of the
fabric to
mark the clip line, or use a pin to mark the
line.)
- Turn a 1/2" hem on the top edge of both
pieces. On the long piece, also turn and hem the
sides from
the clips to the top.
- Now fold down the top edge of the long piece
so that the top edge of the fabric meets the clip
line.
Sew a double seam along the hemmed edge. Leave the
sides open so you can slip it on your belt.
- Layer the two pieces of fabric, right sides
together, lining up the bottom edges and sew
around the
sides and the bottom. Don't sew across the top
hem. (The small piece shouldn't overlap the belt
loop.
If it does, adjust the length at the bottom so the
top hem of the small piece is right under the hem
of
the belt loop.) Turn right sides out and make a
double row of stitching around the sides and
bottom.
- Your belt bag is ready to use.
