What is 4-H?

4-H Youth Development in Cass County offers opportunities for youth ages 5-18 to live, learn, grow, and have fun! 4-H uses "learn by doing" projects, club meetings, community service activities and educational events for young people, as they work toward developing "skills for life".  Youth choose project areas of interest to them and subsequently learn life skills such as responsibility, decision-making, public speaking, and leadership. Adult volunteer leaders teach projects to youth using the “learn-by-doing” method.  4-H is the youth development branch of North Dakota State University Extension Service.

Isn't 4-H just for farm kids?  -  -  No!

4-H is for all young people, regardless of where they live, what their backgrounds are, or what interests them. Today in North Dakota most 4-H members are from urban areas and they participate in projects to learn many different life skills.
