The Extension Indian Reservation Program at Fort Berthold has received funding from North Central Region (NCR) Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education Program (SARE). The funding is to present educational programs on Controlling Leafy Spurge with Multi-Species Grazing of Sheep and Cattle on Reservations in North Dakota, South Dakota and Montana. Our next opportunity for a hands-on training will be June 30th 1999 at Medora, North Dakota.
The 1st day will include speakers on leafy spurge and other noxious weeds; field tours of TEAM Leafy Spurge biocontrol, multi-species grazing and hericide research & demonstration sites; and an open forum/panel discussion. The 2nd day will discuss the future of invasive weed management. Also include will be a leafy spurge flea beetle give-away and demonstration of how to collect and release flea beetles.
