One of the biggest events in
4-H and the one most participate in is the Greater Grand Forks Fair (Grand
Forks County Fair). Held every year in July prior to the North Dakota State Fair, 4-H
members get a chance to earn ribbons and display their 4-H projects that
they have completed over the past year. This five day event showcases our 4-H
program and the youth involved. It is a fun event for all the members and
their families as we showcase as many as 1,000 exhibits (projects) and also
showcase the animals that 4-H members have been working with and grooming
all year long.
Let�s not forget that all this hard work doesn�t just go to waste at the end of those five days; because not only do participating members get premiums for their ribbons, but they may also get a chance to send their exhibits and compete on a state level at the North Dakota State Fair. All 4-H 4-H members get a reduced admission at the State Fair. Below is a schedule of events as well as 4-H opportunities that will be held during the 2008 Greater Grand Forks Fair. Wednesday, July 9th- Static Exhibit Judging 4pm-8pmLivestock Entry 1-8pm Mandatory Meeting for Livestock Exhibitors 7pm Thursday, July 10th- 4-H Dog Show 7pm Livestock Entry 8am-3pm 4-H Miniature Golf 3pm-7pm 4-H Archery 7pm-9pm Friday, July 11th- 4-H Horse Show 12pm (11 am registration) Rooster Crowing contest 9am 4-H Miniature Golf 3pm-7pm 4-H Archery 7pm-9pm Pie and Ice Cream Social 7pm-10pm Saturday, July 12th- Livestock Show 9am 4-H Miniature Golf 12pm-7pm 4-H Archery 2pm-4pm Pie and Ice Cream Social 1pm-10pm Sunday, July 13th- 4-H Miniature Golf 12pm-5pm 4-H Archery 2pm-4pm Pie and Ice Cream Social 1pm-5pm Awards Presentation 5:30pm Monday, July 14th- Pack for the ND State Fair 9am Go to
