Howdy!!!

Well it sure has been a rollercoaster ride in the markets this past week.  With limits changing every couple of days and getting larger bigger downside risks also can happen very sudden.  Good example was in the wheat market where we lost almost $2 in three days in the Sept. 09 contract. There are some tremendous opportunities before us, in all commodities so take a look at some of these opportunities.  I told Thomas just the other day opportunities come and go and to be on the right side of that opportunity,

makes life much easier.  Another thought to process is; I know all of you have been watching the news and how they are going to close a couple of chemical companies in China to get ready for the Summer Olympics.  I wonder if that will impact supplies and or prices this spring and summer??????

Soybean days in Edmore!!!!

Tuesday, March 11 is the day if you want to learn more about Soybeans and how they fit into your rotation, with markets and expenses as they are.  KNDK, North Dakota Soybean Council, Viking Feeders of Edmore along with Ramsey County Extension are sponsoring the event.  The day will start at 8:30 am with coffee and booths to visit.  We anticipate a very good selection of product reps available for people to visit with.  The sessions will start approximately at 10 am and conclude about 3 pm.  North Dakota Soybean Council will lead the day off talking about the future of soybeans in our society.  Dwight Aakre (NDSU Extension Economist) will visit about the economics of soybeans not only in the rotation but also included in new breaking of CRP, to follow Dwight will be a panel discussion on planting through harvesting techniques to improve profitability.  There will be a sponsored dinner and starting at 1 pm. Hans Kandel(NDSU Extension Agronomist) will visit producers on soybean production, following Hans, Red River Farm New will provide market information and might even have some good news about the new Farm Bill.  SO, HERE IS YOUR CHANCE TO PARTAKE IN A EDUCATIONAL DAY AT THE EDMORE COMMUNITY CENTER, downtown west of Main Street
