Howdy!!!
This weeks’ addition will be fairly, short as I am writing this with many things
going on including being in Fargo for pesticide training. It is really hard to
tell what normal is the last few years. It seems every time we get rain it
comes in buckets. I have heard many varying rain amounts but do know one thing,
anytime we get rains of 2 plus inches during harvest is not a good thing but as
dry as we were it will definitely help for the next growing season. I know my
yard is already looking green after the lack of moisture most of the summer.
This past weekend I had the pleasure of having some really good friends up from
Lisbon. We fished, ate and visited for two days and had a great time. They
farm and are really dry. Dave was telling me that the pivots were not keeping
up this summer. I will finish up with my tomato report next week and can’t
believe how many of you readers have talked to me about the differences and
suggestions to pass on to the rest of you tomato growers. I have also had many,
many readers also tell me stories of their own flower gardens that I will share
sometime this winter when we are freezing the water solid outside. My kids were
also out this past weekend for a visit. It is really fun to see them go home
but when they are around we had a really great time. It is really hard to
believe that our kids can already be parents and to watch them do the spoiling
is fun to watch. I do need to go so until next time happy gardening and
harvesting.
