Howdy!!!!
I have been gone for a couple of days to a No-Till conference this past weekend and was quite surprised to find the amount of snow we had received.  There is something to be said for light fluffy snow.  It seems to be much more scenic and serene. 

I did get to check out Shiverfest this past weekend and enjoyed the kite flying exhibition south of town.  I was really surprised to find a rather large diameter kite flying, wondering how it even got off the ground.  We then ventured over to Woodland resort to check out the hay ride, dog sled team and the golfing on ice.  Everybody I saw was having a great time and I sure did, just watching.  A big thank you, to everyone for taking the lead and organizing this event.  Deb and I were very glad we attended everything we did.  “Great Job”!!! 

This past Sunday night I had the pleasure of taking an uncle of mine out fishing.  Pete had not been on the ice much so I asked if he would like to try his luck at fishing.  Keep in mind this was a new experience for Pete as he had never fished out of a fish house like mine (pickup).  I drilled the hole, set Pete up behind the wheel (which by the way did not take very long getting from the passenger side of the vehicle) with a blanket over his legs, vexilar mounted on the door and fishing rod in his hand.  He had a great time catching 1 walleye and missing 4 others.  We ended the night with a game of race horse pinnacle and of course, “I” won.

Shooting Sports!!!!
Our Ramsey County Shooting Sports program is off an running.  We have a tremendous set of volunteers overlooking the programs and volunteering their time teaching the programs of Archery and Rifle to the youth of Ramsey County.  We will be training another set of volunteers this spring in Black Powder and Shotgun.  If you have an interest in either of these programs please call our office at 701-662-7027.
