Howdy!!!!!
Well I hate to say it but I caught the fever Thursday night at the Region Four
Girls tourney. Congratulations to Adams-Edmore girl’s team and coaches in
advancing to the state tournament in Minot. I was part of a state tournament
team way back once upon a time and the memories last a life time. My hats off
also goes to Four-Winds-Warwick lady Indians, they played a very good game and
even though I did not look at a program, by the looks on the faces of those
young ladies I suspect they will be very good for years to come. It is
unfortunate that someone has to lose. I will be following Adams-Edmore very
closely and possibly even attend the tournament in Minot; after all I am an
Edmore graduate and fan. It is very fun to watch a school community come
together and support any event in which they are participate. Good Luck
Adams-Edmore coaches, team and community!!!!!
“Extreme Makeover”!!!!!
Extreme Makeover classes will begin April 4th and continue through
May 2nd. Last years class was a huge success and this year classes
will enhance the information learned last year to provide each gardener with the
information needed to begin their own makeover.
The class this year (April 4th) will begin with Mike Kangas (Forest health specialist) talking about insects and diseases of the trees in our neighborhoods. Mike is very knowledgeable and adds humor to his presentation. April 18th class will feature Ron Smith (NDSU Horticulturist) talking about gardening. For those of you attending classes last year, you will remember Ron talking about lawn care and how boring that topic might be but after the class, finding themselves going home and applying that information to their own yard. I have asked Ron to talk about flower gardening and vegetable gardening. Every year I get many questions about little creatures, either in the garden, flower garden or in the home and here is your chance to visit with Janet Knodel about insects. She is the insect lady and has some very good pictures of insects. You will be fascinated by the looks of some of these pesky little guys and realize that one of these may have been around your neighborhood. May 2nd will be the extreme makeover night and I really look forward to taking a peak at another yard. Last year got a little cold that evening, but was still a success with many good suggestions for the homeowner. We ended the night with a potluck supper. I would also like to thank all of those supporters of last year’s classes with their wonderful door prizes. “SEE YOU THIS YEAR”. Anyone attending classes last year or the landscape class this past fall will receive a $5 dollar discount for attending this years’ classes.
