Howdy!!!!

Well, it finally happened this past weekend.  I am finally a grandpa.  Hudson was brought into this great hunting and fishing world about 3:30 on Saturday.  They tell me that grandchildren come much faster after the first one, so we will have to wait and see.  Dad and mom are doing well though a little tired.  What a time of year this has been; a wedding announcement, new grandchild and my folks having an auction sale in 3 weeks.  Busy time, but all worth the wait.

I had my first radishes this past weekend and what a treat.  Onions are also about ready, but all in all the garden is looking very good.  I did some experiments this spring on my garden.  I doubled the amount of Cow compost to apply on part of my garden and also applied just grass clippings to another area to see how plants would react differently to different soil management strategies.  I was really surprised to find my tomato’s blooming a lot on Saturday.  Seems kind of early but I will take it.  I also am using a drip line throughout my whole garden this year and really like the results to his point.  I hooked the whole garden to water at the same time with water being applied to each row or tomato.  I wake up in the morning and the garden is nicely wet down the rows and nothing in between.  It has been helping keep the weeds in check by not having that unused ground wet except for rain storms.
