Howdy!!!!

We have been lucky with the weather lately.  There have been some nasty storms in the southern part of our area.  I had a friend in Fargo that had his pickup totaled from the storm last Wednesday or Thursday (I can’t remember).  A little rain would be good, in moderation, but mother nature seems to forget what moderation is.  This past weekend resident duck season opened and as usual My kids took their dad hunting for my annual one day hunting trip.  This is a trip I do not care if I even shoot as I enjoy the morning and listening to them, plus their friends, hoot and holler over who shot what.  It really makes my day when my nephew (Ryan) misses at point blank range, but at least he admitted he forgot to aim.  The morning moved very quickly and it was not long we were on our way home from another hunting day with dad.  I talk about this as this is the way the seasons go, here today and gone tomorrow.  Like growing crops, gardens, flowers, trees and etc, there are many things we need to get ready for the long winter season just ahead of us, to include preparing our house for the cold days ahead.  It’s hard to imagine October is here next week and with that the likely hood of a killing frost for all of us.  This is a very good time of year to reduce the insects that enter your home.  Tempo does a good job on spiders on the outside of your home and there is also an insecticide that can be placed around the perimeter of your home to reduce infestations of Asian lady beetles, boxelder bugs along with many other insects.  This product does work very good and lasts for a long period of time.  It is also the time of year the deer start moving into our yards.  I did find an organic repellent that worked very well for me this summer and has lasted about 3 months.  I was impressed as the deer were eating almost everything they could wrap their mouths around.

This is also the time of year we start preparing for the upcoming winter programming.  If you have any suggestions please don’t hesitate to call and we will try to accommodate your request.  Roundup is coming and I think programming is pretty well wrapped up for that 2 day packed event.  There are many topics that will be covered this winter to include crops, marketing, gardening, livestock and anything in between.
