Howdy!!!

Wow what a weekend for sports!!!!  “UND hockey and the Super Bowl”.  I will be the first to admit I do not know much about hockey but sure do like watching the Sioux play.  The winning goal on Friday night was spectacular to say the least, in overtime, and you could feel the tension building on Saturday night’s game.  People will tell you they like hockey for the game and that is true but must admit a little disagreement during the game really gets people excited.  When ever the Sioux play the Gophers, in hockey, tension runs high and usually very fun games to watch.  The goal tenders on both sides, I thought, played extremely well.   And then there was the Super Bowl last night.  I can honestly say I had no favorite other than I am an underdog person so found myself cheering for the New York Giants.  It was really fun to finally get to watch a really good game.  I am not also an historian but for the sake of watching a game I might guess this game to be remembered for a long time for its closeness and outcome.  It was fun to watch no matter the case.  Watching the game also brought back memories of other great games and players and it always amazes me how great players really come to the forefront for a big game like the Giants defense did.

I am looking for three or four folks interested in helping plan our Gardening Saturday.  If you are interested or have ideas please contact me or stop by our office.  We have to get things going in the next week or two to find presenters of interest.

We are still trying to manage many different meetings that are around the corner with our first big meeting being Ramsey County Crop Improvement annual meeting.  I had sent our All Farmers Ag Alert our before Christmas and had a date of our annual meeting of February 7 not knowing at that point the dates of the state annual meeting and also our speakers commitment.  Well we finally received notice of the annual meeting to be that date and our speaker then needed to make his calendar work as well so not the date has been set at Tuesday, February 19, 10am Great American Inn.  Coffee and rolls to start at 9:30 am.  The annual meeting itself will begin at 1 pm and commodity elections to begin promptly at 1:30 pm.
