NEEDS ASSESSMENT
"If you don’t know where you are going, any road will get you there"

"Needs assessment" is a buzzword we hear all the time. We hear it in the news, re4ad it in the newspapers and hear it on the street and in the coffee shops. The terms "needs assessment" is often used interchangeably to denote anything we wish to keep or strengthen. We would like to invite you to participate in an opportunity to strengthen the 4-H program through needs assessment.

4-H leaders, members and parents in Benson, Cavalier, Nelson, Ramsey, Rolette and Towner counties are being asked to gather together on:

Tuesday, February 22nd, 5-7 pm
Basement Meeting
Ramsey County Courthouse, Devils Lake
A light supper will be served.

Objective for our time together include reviewing "what is", "what should be" and developing a "road map" for 4-H in our counties to work with what lies in-between. "Needs assessment" can help determine what is needed in 4-H programming as well as helping to provide for what is takes to plan for the future, how county programming for 4-H is going to get there and how we will know if it got there or not. We look forward to a time of sharing successes and concerns and then creating an action plan for further success in the future.

If you have any questions or would like further information, please contact Brenda.

We’ll see you and your map-making skills on the 22nd.

STATE CROP SHOW
The North Dakota Barley Council will provide $100 to the 4-H club that submits the most barley samples to the North Dakota Crops Show, which will be held in Valley City during the March 2005 Winter Show. If you have questions please let us know.

Project Day is scheduled for April 23. Enclosed are registration forms. All 4-H’ers are all registered on a first come first served basis. The forms are also being sent to other counties. So if you are planning on attending turn your registration form in soon to get your first choices.
