of the Lake Region Thrivent Branch (formerly Lutheran Brotherhood and Aid

ND 4-H Research Study
Older 4-H members (12 and older) in ND
are being invited to participate in a research study being lead by Dr. Karin
Bartoszuk of NDSU. The purpose of the study is to examine the attitudes and
behaviors 4-H members have in regards to themselves, their family, peers and
community at large. This study will evaluate if 4-H activities increase positive
youth development. Results of the study will be used to generate impact reports
which will be used with funding sources and to market 4-H. The study is in the
form of a questionnaire. All information collected is confidential and will be
kept anonymous. Brenda will be contacting clubs this spring and early summer to
set up a time at a club meeting when she can work with older members on
completing the survey. Thanks in advance for your assistance with this project!

4-H Century Family
As the 4-H program enters it’s second
century, a special recognition program for families with a long, sustained
involvement in 4-H has been created by the ND 4-H Foundation. ND families with a
combined 100 years or more of membership and/or volunteer service in 4-H will be
recognized with a certificate and special recognition during National 4-H Week
in October.
Application forms are available in the Extension Office and may be submitted at any time through they do need to be completed by August 4th to be recognized during National 4-H Week.
Guidelines for the application include: Volunteer years devoted to 4-H club work on the county, regional, or state levels are applicable. 4-H membership or leadership in other states may be included. Only direct line family members can be counted in the 100 year tally. Aunts, uncles, cousins, etc may not be considered. Support documentation is not necessary.
The application form resembles a family tree. Those submitted the application "fill in the blanks" of names, year of service and club for each successive generation to tally 100 or more. The application form includes a sample completed form which is a great starting point.
We have several third and more generation families involved in the Ramsey County 4-H program and look forward to receiving your 100 year old 4-H family tree!
