ACHIEVEMENT DAYS
Ramsey County Achievement Days

Set for June 17, 28-29, 2006.

       The Achievement Day Horse Show will be held at Peterson Arena on Saturday, June 17.

       Everything else that is associated with 4-H Achievement Days will be held on June 28 & 29 at the Memorial Building and Bill Jerome Arena. Absolutely everything, including exhibits, expos, animals, horses, speech spectacular, fashion revue, etc., must be pre-registered by June 9.  Only 4-H’ers completing the pre-registration will be able to exhibit at 4-H Achievement Days so start that paperwork. This includes cloverbuds!

Pre-registration for the Ramsey County Achievement Days will be due in the Ramsey County Extension Office by June 9, 2006. Registration forms and exhibit books are included in this mailing. Consumer Choices Classes
 
YYouth ages 8-10: breads, pets, t-shirts

YYouth ages 11-18: grains, MP3 players, running shoes

Shotgun Classes
Ramsey County 4-H Shooting Sports is offering a beginner/intermediate shotgun class and a intermediate/advanced class this summer.  These classes will be offered to youth 10-17 years of age and have taken ND Hunter Safety Class. We are accepting 10 participants per time slot. Classes are scheduled to begin Monday, June 5th and will continue every Monday through the end of July. There will be a $40 registration fee + shells to cover any expenses during the class. For more information contact the Extension office at 701-662-7027. “So, hurry on in if you are interested in learning more about shotgun safety and the proper techniques of shooting shotguns.

Wells County TUFF Show
Monday, May 29th. Registration is from 9-10 am and the show begins at 10:00 am. It will be held at the Wells Co Fair Grounds Arena. Registration is required. Registration forms are enclosed. Please contact Carrie Krause at krause@daktel.com or 701-984-2458 if you are interested in bringing a team.  Remember a team can consist of 3 or more members.  If you don't have enough for a team, come anyway and they will work it so you can join another team.

Camp Schedule
      A 4-H camp schedule was included with the last newsletter. If you SEQ CHAPTER \h \r 1
are interested in any of these camps please send you registration in soon before they fill up. If you need another brochure please contact our office.

Ramsey County TUFF Show
The Ramsey County TUFF Show will be held on Saturday, June 10th. Registration will start at 9 am and the contest will start at 10 am.

A registration form that must be signed by parents of the 4-H members competing is enclosed.

We would encourage all 4-H members who are interested in sharpening their horse skills to come. Please reply with an email, so we have an idea how many participants there will be.

4-H health and conduct forms must be brought along to the show. All 4-H horse show rules apply and helmets must be worn for all riding events.

So bring your teams of 4 to 99 and let’s have fun! We are looking forward to seeing you at the Ramsey County 4-H Teaming Up for Fun Horse Show.

Range Youth Camp
      This year marks the 32nd annual range youth camp for North Dakota. It will once again be held at Hanson’s Logging Camp between Amidon and Medora. The camp is scheduled for June 13-16 and open to all interested youth ages 13-18 with a keen interest in the rangeland resource and range judging. The camp provides a majestic scenic location for students to learn in the field and enjoy the fun activities of a camp. The camp provides an excellent opportunity to learn and polish the skills or range judging, as range judging is used as a tool to teach and have fun. Application will be accepted until June 9 with a cost of $110 per youth. Call our office for a brochure and more information.
