DO I
HAVE TO BE A 4-H CLUB MEMBER TO BE A PART OF 4-H?
No. 4-H is
open to all youth, both members and non-members. Some
examples of this would be events at the Western 4-H
Camp, specialty events, school enrichment programs,
leadership training, etc.

HOW DO I
JOIN 4-H OR BECOME INVOLVED IN 4-H EVENTS?
Contact the Sioux
County Extension Office. Staff will assist you in
finding a local club or in finding out about the latest
4-H sponsored event.

ARE
THERE WAYS FOR ADULTS TO BECOME INVOLVED IN 4-H?
Yes. 4-H is a
family oriented organization. Adults can become leaders
of or helpers with 4-H Clubs. Adults can also volunteer
to assist in conducting special events sponsored by 4-H.

WHAT
DOES ONE LEARN IN 4-H?
Skills to assist
youth in preparing for adult life, including critical
thinking, communication, character building, respect,
public speaking, serving others, making choices,
managing challenges, problem solving, lifelong skills
and hobbies. Most importantly, 4-H is FUN!

WHAT
TYPES OF PROJECTS DOES 4-H OFFER?
A few examples
include: rocketry, photography, bicycles,
computers, woodworking, low ROPES, first aid, animal
care, nutrition, fishing and shooting sports, character
education, leadership training, pet care, etc.

WHAT IS
THE 4-H EMBLEM?
A green four-leaf clover with a white H on each leaf.
The official 4-H name and emblem are protected under
Federal Statute (Title 18, U.S.C.707) and may only be
utilized with permission.
