Poultry Essay Contest

Contest Description:
Rodney Dannehl, County 4-H Program Leader, in association with the NDSU Extension Service/Stark-Billings County, is sponsoring a poultry essay contest. A reasonable number of baby poultry (bantams, chickens, ducks or geese) will be given to interested and highly motivated youth winners.

Contest Information:
* Applicant does not have to be a 4-H member to apply.
* Winners will be announced at the Stark-Billings County 4-H Round-Up.
* Delivery of poultry will be arranged with the contest winners.
* The applicant will be expected to give a pair of young poultry to another interested youth the following year.

Poultry Essay Contest
Please submit answers to the following questions on a sheet of paper; include applicant name, mailing address, city, state, zip, phone number, parent signature, applicant signature and date, and return to Rodney Dannehl at the address below:
Please describe the facilities you have available for housing poultry.
Do you have experience caring for poultry? If so, please share your experience and what you learned from it.
Do you promise to retain ownership and care for the poultry for a minimum of two years following acceptance of the prize, and remain an active member of the 4-H poultry project?
Will you allow Rodney Dannehl, a representative of the NDSU Extension Service/ Stark-Billings County to periodically check on your progress?
Please write a short essay on a separate sheet of paper and include the following:
Why you want the poultry
How you will care for the poultry
What your future plans are for the poultry
What your related goals are
