Medora Beef Day

January 14 is this year’s date for the annual Medora Beef Day. The meeting will kick-off at 9:45 a.m.

Dr. Kirschten of the Simmental Assn. will discuss using EPD’s to improve carcass quality.

Eric Berg NDSU meat specialist will discuss management strategies for improved carcass quality.

After lunch Greg Lardy of NDSU will discuss Emerging Beef Industry Issues. His topic will be, "What’s on the Horizon?

At 2:15 p.m., the Golden Valley Soil Conservation District will have their 2nd Annual SCD Cattlemen’s meetings. Topics to be discussed include nutritional quality—growth patterns of cool-season grasses; grass establishment strategies; the grazing readiness—utilizing winter Triticale and cover crops; swath grazing—livestock performance and forage production and the district plot—Burleigh County cover crop plot.
