What is the Parents Forever Program?

Parents Forever is a four-hour parenting workshop for parents who are divorced or in the process of divorce. This program, led by trained facilitators, will help parents understand the impact of divorce on their children and provide specific concrete actions that parents can take to help their children. It is not a counseling or therapy session, but focuses on what to do and how to help children during and after divorce. It will enhance the skills that parents now have to deal with their children with issues raised in the divorce process.

"Two weekends a month, every Wednesday, six weeks in the summer and every other holiday." -- It sounds like a recipe for fairness, but few are happy with the product. The problem for the courts has been and still is what solution is in the best interest of the children and what is the most equitable custody arrangements for the parents?

Most children undergoing divorce have some negative experience. The majority of children experience difficulty in several significant areas including factors relating to the quality of the children's relationship to their parents and their environment. Parents are the only ones with the power to lessen the pain of divorce for their children. A divorce will separate a husband and wife, but not a parent and child. Children will never lose a parent who chooses to stay active in their life.
