Dexter Receives Distinguished Service Award

Alan Dexter, sugar beet weed specialist for the North Dakota State University Extension Service, will receive the Distinguished Service Award from the National Association of County Agricultural Agents at their annual meeting July 26-30 in San Antonio, Tex. Dexter has been a sugar beet specialist for NDSU and the University of Minesota since 1969. He developed the sugar beet herbicide programs presently used in the two states, and his split-application/reduced-rate techniques are used throughout the world. Each year at various educational functions Dexter contacts about 80 percent of the 3,300 North Dakota and Minnesota sugar beet growers.
