Certified Crop Adviser Exam Date Announced
The next testing session in North Dakota for the Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) Program will be Friday, Feb. 5, 1999, in Carrington.
The CCA Program is designed to establish base standards of knowledge for individuals who advise growers on crop management and production inputs. The program's goal is to assure farmers that crop advisers possess a level of competence that allows them to help with crop production and environmental issues such as water quality, soil loss and integrated pest management.
Registration must be completed by Dec. 18 to take the international and state CCA exams in February. Registration forms received after the deadline, regardless of postmark, will be returned. The cost of the international CCA exam is $100 and the North Dakota exam costs $75. Applicants must take both exams to become certified. Exam application materials, performance objectives and more information about the CCA program in North Dakota can be obtained from the North Dakota CCA Board at (701) 231-7173.
The CCA program is coordinated by the American Registry of Certified Professionals in Agronomy, Crops and Soils. Certification of CCA credentials and development of CCA state exam questions are handled by a state board comprised of representatives from agribusiness, agricultural consulting, universities and government agencies.
