Lambert Named NDSU Ag Economics Chair
David K. Lambert is the new chair of the Department of Agricultural Economics at North Dakota State University. He comes to NDSU after spending 14 years at the University of Nevada at Reno, where he was an associate professor of agricultural economics.
Lambert says he is excited about the opportunities that come with being chair of NDSU's ag economics department. He adds, "The department already has a good record in teaching and outreach efforts. There are people here who are well known around the country for their research. I'd like to strengthen each one of these areas."
Having received his bachelor's degree in zoology and his master's in environmental studies from the University of California, Davis, Lambert earned his Ph.D. from the agricultural and resource economics department at Oregon State University, Corvallis. His work experience includes positions with the Bureau of Land Management in Portland, Ore., and Susanville, Calif.
An author of numerous journal articles and research and extension publications, Lambert is also an active member of several professional organizations. He belongs to the American Agricultural Economics Association and the American Economic Association, and he is past vice president of the Western Agricultural Economics Association.
Lambert and his wife, Cybil Perkins, have two sons, Tyler Lambert-Perkins, age 10, and Dylan Lambert-Perkins, age 5.
