Food Safety Workshops Offered at Three N.D. Locations

The North Dakota State University Extension Service will present three one-day workshops to focus attention on developing Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) programs for foodservice establishments.

All the workshops will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Locations and dates are the Ambulance Training Center in Napoleon on Wednesday, May 19; the Lantern Room in the Jamestown Mall on Wednesday, May 26; and the Sunrise Room in Rugby's Heart of America Medical Center on Thursday, June 10.

Serving as a workshop instructor for all three sessions is Julie Garden-Robinson, extension food and nutrition specialist at NDSU. Presenting a one-hour update on the food code at the Napoleon and Jamestown workshops will be Frank Baumgartner, environmental health practitioner with the North Dakota Department of Health. Presenting that session at the Rugby workshop will be Kari Follman, also an environmental health practitioner with the health department.

The workshops are co-sponsored by GFG Foodservice of Grand Forks. A continuing education credit has been requested from the American Dietetic Association and the Dietary Managers Association.

Registration forms are available through county offices of the NDSU Extension Service. A registration fee is $5 will cover the cost of refreshments for two breaks. Registration deadlines are Wednesday, May 12, for the Napoleon and Jamestown workshops and Thursday, June 3, for the Rugby workshop.
