A series of regional programs to update North Dakota pork producers on management topics has been scheduled for November.
The programs are jointly sponsored by the North Dakota Pork Producers Council and the North Dakota State University Extension Service. The meetings begin at 1:30 p.m. and will last until about 5:30 at the following dates and locations:
The program will include an update of activities of the North Dakota Pork Producers Council and the National Pork Producers Council. In addition, Scott Birchall, NDSU Extension livestock waste management specialist, will outline on-farm odor assessment programs. NDSU Extension swine specialist Tom Socha and NDSU swine researcher Jim Tilton will discuss production goals in the swine herd and detail when producers need to take action to maintain optimum profitability.
