New Edition of Weeds Book Available

A new edition of the popular "Weeds of the West" identification guide to important weed species of the Western United States is now available.

According to Richard Zollinger, extension weeds specialist at North Dakota State University, the new edition has been expanded to include 30 additional weed species. In addition, many photographs have been replaced, and pictures of the seedling stage of most annual plants have been added.

The new edition has 628 pages and includes many plants and weeds from the Northern Plains region. Each plant species included has a color photo of the mature plant and a picture showing some defining characteristic of the species, as well as the seedling photos of annual plants.

"Weeds of the West is published by the Western Society of Weed Science in cooperation with the land grant universities of the western United States. The publishing institution is the University of Wyoming.
