Master Gardener Program Slated For 2002The Master Gardener Program for North Dakota is slated for 2002, starting Saturday, Jan. 5, and continuing every Saturday through Feb. 23, according to Ron Smith, extension horticulturist at North Dakota State University. Classes will be taught from the NDSU campus and broadcast across the State's IVN system to Bismarck, Minot, Williston, Grand Forks, Wahpeton, Jamestown, and at the Cankdeska Cikana Community College in Fort Totten. Classes will run from 9 a.m. to 3:50 p.m. with an hour off for lunch. Cost is $80 with a return of volunteer time of 48 hours over the next year, or $175 for no volunteer time obligation. Notebooks full of relevant horticultural information will be passed out to all registrants, along with additional handouts from the many speakers who will make presentations. "Come and get inspired by hearing and seeing some fantastic gardening techniques, learning what's new, and enjoy associating with others of a similar interest," Smith says. To register contact: Ronald C. Smith at ( 701)231-8161 or via e-mail at ronsmith@ndsuext.nodak.edu , or contact your local county agent for further information. Space is limited and on a first-come basis. The registration deadline is Dec. 15, after which a $25 late registration fee will be charged. ### Source: Ron Smith, (701) 231-8161, ronsmith@ndsuext.nodak.edu |
