NDSU Schedules Beef Quality Assurance Training Sessions

A series of training sessions has been scheduled for North Dakota beef producers who want to receive certification in the North Dakota Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) program.

Producers who want their calves to receive beef quality assurance certification next year must receive training by the end of the year, according to Lisa Lee, beef quality assurance specialist with the North Dakota State University Extension Service.

The sessions will include information on management and herd health techniques that improve beef quality. Emphasis will be given to minimizing damage to beef cuts by giving injections ahead of the front shoulder. The fee for the training sessions is $15.

Training sessions are scheduled for the following dates and locations:

Nov. 5 at 1 p.m. in Medora at the Billings County Courthouse.

Nov. 5 at 6 p.m. in Scranton at the Community Center.

Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. in Medina at the Legion Hall.

Nov. 13 at 1 p.m. in Raleigh at the Dog Tooth Bar and Grill.

Nov. 14 at 9:30 a.m. in Halliday at the Halliday City Hall.

Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. in Watford City at the McKenzie County Courthouse.

Nov. 15 at 1:30 p.m. in Hebron at the Hebron City Hall.

Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. in Hettinger at the NDSU Hettinger Research Extension Center.

Nov. 27 at 1 p.m. in Wishek at the National Guard Armory.

Nov. 28 at 1:30 in Cavalier at the Pembina County Courthouse, Farmer Room.

Nov. 28 at 6:30 p.m. in Rolette at Memorial Hall.

Dec. 4 at 1 p.m. in Garrison at a location to be announced.

Dec. 4 at 6:30 p.m. in Towner at the Memorial Building.

Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. in Plaza at the Plaza Depot.

Dec. 6 at 1:30 p.m. in Williston in the basement of the Williams County Courthouse.

Dec. 12 at 1:30 p.m. in Wyndmere at the Wyndmere Firehall.
