Former U.S. Ag Secretary Bergland to Speak at NDSU Bloomquist Lecture SeriesFormer U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Robert Bergland is this year's featured speaker at the annual Bloomquist Lecture Series sponsored by the Quentin Burdick Center for Cooperatives from North Dakota State University. Bergland will deliver his remarks at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 3, at the Fargo Holiday Inn. Bergland currently serves on the board of regents for the University of Minnesota. He is a former director of the National Association of Rural Electric Cooperatives and former congressional representative from Minnesota’s seventh district. Bergland has been described as a true believer in the cooperative form of business. The Bloomquist Lecture Series is open to the public. Cost for the program is $10 which includes breakfast. The annual Bloomquist Lecture Series is endowed by American Crystal Sugar to honor its former president, Aldrich C. Bloomquist of Moorhead.
