Nationally Known Child Development Researcher To Give Workshop at NDSU

National child development educator and researcher Jean Illsley Clarke will present a professional workshop on "The Fine Line Between Love and Overindulgence" at the NDSU Alumni Center on Tuesday, April 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Clarke’s workshop will focus on the results of three studies from the Overindulgence Research Project as well as reasons why parents overindulge their children, the criteria that identify overindulgence, the ways of overindulging children, and the effects of overindulgence on adult life and parenting.

Cost for the workshop is $35 per person. Registration deadline is Thursday, April 4. Clock hours and CEU certificates are available. The workshop is sponsored by the Cass County office of the NDSU Extension Service, and the Clay County office of University of Minnesota Extension. Clarke is author of several books on family life and child development. She is a Minneapolis-based consultant on child development research and education and conducts workshops on child development around the world.
