Number of N.D. Bankruptcy Cases Rises 82 Percent During 90s (4/18/02) About 2,000 bankruptcy petitions were filed in North Dakota in 2000. The number of bankruptcy cases in North Dakota grew 83 percent between 1981 and 1990. Cases rose another 82 percent between 1990 and 2000. The steep rise in cases filed in North Dakota during the mid to later part of the 1990s is in stark contrast to the overall economic health of the state.  MORE
