AgCitement Mobile Learning Lab to Provide Ag Education Across the StateAgCitement, a mobile agriculture learning lab, will take to the road this summer to teach North Dakota youth about the state’s largest industry. A program of the North Dakota Agriculture in the Classroom Council and the North Dakota Department of Agriculture, AgCitement is ready for appearances at fairs and other events across the state. "AgCitement offers a variety of lessons, demonstrations and hands-on learning activities to encourage students to learn about agriculture, food, fiber and natural resources," said Doug Vannurden, Ag in the Classroom Council president and North Dakota FFA executive secretary. "Many North Dakota commodity groups and agriculture organizations have contributed materials and funds to make AgCitement possible." Contact Rhonda Mahlum for more information or to schedule AgCitement at manofwar42@hotmail.com. She can also be reached at (701) 290-4278 until May 15 and (701) 328-3185 after that. Groups interested in having the 30-foot AgCitement trailer at their event are asked to pay mileage and provide electricity and water. "The AgCitement trailer is just one of the Ag in the Classroom projects that helps students develop an understanding of the interrelationship of agriculture, the environment and people," said Becky Koch, Ag in the Classroom Council secretary with North Dakota State University Agriculture Communication. "To help teachers integrate agricultural information into their K-12 classes, Project Food, Land and People workshops provide lessons and college credit, and the Ag Mag provides activities specific to North Dakota for third, fourth and fifth graders." Teachers can be added to the Ag in the Classroom database and sponsors can learn more about the programs by contacting the North Dakota Department of Agriculture at 1-800-7535 or ### Writer: Beth Payne
