North Dakota Net Farm Income Drops in 2001 (5/10/02) The average net income for North Dakota farms outside of the Red River Valley declined by 40 percent in 2001, according to farm management specialist Andrew Swenson. Average net income for those farms dropped to $32,400 in 2001 from $54,000 in 2000. The primary reason for the drop in net income was a reduction in government subsidies, Swenson says.  MORE
