Water Quality Is Focus of New NDSU Web Site

Water quality in North Dakota is the focus of a new Web site developed by North Dakota State water quality specialists.

"The site is a good place to start for just about anyone interested in North Dakota water quality issues," says Bruce Seelig, water quality specialist with the NDSU Extension Service. "There is very general information that might be of interest to youth and others beginning to explore water issues as well as very technical information for professionals who work in this field."

This site, http://aeserver2.abeng.ndsu.nodak.edu/ndsqw/index.html, contains information related to water quality in North Dakota from a variety of sources and is organized into the following categories:

  • Grazing and riparian management
  • Irrigation water management
  • Manure management
  • Nutrient management
  • Pesticide management
  • Salinity
  • Watershed management
  • Wellhead protection
  • Wetlands
  • Water quality programs for specific audiences
  • Partners for water quality
  • North Dakota water quality links

All NDSU Extension Service publications related to water quality can be easily accessed from the site. It also provides users with connections to faculty and staff at NDSU that are involved in water-quality-related teaching, research, and extension programs. Links are also provided to various state, federal, and local sources of water quality information.
