Bartoszuk Joins NDSU Extension Service

Karin Bartoszuk recently joined the North Dakota State University Extension Service as child and adolescent specialist.  She is also an assistant professor in the NDSU Department of Child Development and Family Science.

Bartoszuk, a native of Germany, received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology from Tarleton Central in Texas.  She recently finished her doctoral degree in human development and family studies at Auburn University in Alabama.  Her dissertation focused on adolescent identity development and how it is influenced by different family factors.

Bartoszuk has been involved with numerous projects including implementation and evaluation of a preschool and parenting program for rural families.  She also has worked on research assessing differences among abusive families.

At NDSU, Bartoszuk is gathering information on what North Dakota’s needs are for improving the lives of children, adolescents, and families.  She says she hopes to be part of finding ways to improve the quality of life for North Dakotan families.
