Cow-Calf Management School Set for Jan. 14-15The Western North Dakota Cow-Calf Management School will be held at the Buckskin Restaurant in Killdeer, Jan. 14-15, 2003. It is designed to provide producers with a sound educational basis for making production and marketing decisions in beef cattle production. The school is intended for cow-calf producers, lenders and industry professionals interested in improving production efficiencies and lowering production costs. Topics to be addressed include nutrition and nutritional management, range management, herd health, reproduction, genetics and business management and marketing. Attendees will have the opportunity to interact one-on-one with NDSU Extension Service specialists to facilitate producers’ planning process. Instructors will be available to assist participants individually during the evening session. Registration for the event is $50 per person, which includes meals on-site, and the NDSU Cow-Calf management Handbook with reference materials. Registration deadline is Jan. 1, 2003.
