Little International Royalty AnnouncedThe Saddle and Sirloin Club of North Dakota State University in Fargo has selected its royalty for the 77th Little International. Deana Oe of Belfield, N.D. was chosen as queen and Kari Bitz, LaMoure, N.D. and Michelle Dockter, Denhoff, N.D. were selected to be princesses to reign over this year’s Little "I" activities. This year’s Little International is Feb. 14 – 15, 2003 in Shepperd Arena on the NDSU campus. For more information about Little "I" events and tickets, call (701) 231-7641. The Saddle and Sirloin members nominated royalty candidates, and a panel of judges interviewed the women. Each candidate gave a five-minute speech to both the panel and the club. Judges’ scores and club votes were combined to select the queen and princesses. Royalty is responsible for generating enthusiasm for Little "I", promoting the show’s events and helping wherever needed. Little "I" claims the largest student production and oldest tradition on the NDSU campus. Dedication and hard work by two managers and 29 committees go into the organization of this event. More than 200 students participate in various contests such as memorized public speaking, lamb lead, ham curing and showmanship of beef, sheep, swine, dairy and horses. The highlight of Little "I" will be honoring one individual as Agriculturist of the Year. This man or woman is a distinguished leader in North Dakota agriculture and possesses traits members seek to exemplify. ### Writer: Teresa Oe, (701) 231-8371, teresa.oe@ndsu.nodak.edu
