Livestock Waste Management Workshops SetA series of workshops will be held across the state to help producers understand new rules recently announced by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for concentrated feeding operations. The North Dakota State University Extension Service is sponsoring these workshops which will also help producers better use and manage manure nutrients in crop management. "Many livestock producers are concerned about how the new rules will affect them," explains Charles Linderman, livestock waste management specialist with the NDSU Extension Service. "The workshops will help producers understand the environmental risks associated will their operations, how environmental rules and regulations will affect them and what cost sharing programs are available to help them minimize environmental risks while complying with regulations."
