Horsemanship Camp Offered to North Dakota YouthThe Western North Dakota 4-H camp is offering a horsemanship camp June 8-11, for youth ages eight and over. The camp is designed for beginning riders and will focus on learning the basics of horsemanship from the ground up. Participants are welcome to bring their own horse. Instruction will include lessons on riding, roping, horse health, safety and management. Other activities include a hayride, swimming, dances and a Show-de-o. This will be a place where kids can experience fun, while learning to get along with others, understand people with interests different from theirs and make lasting friendships. The camp will be held at the Western 4-H Camp in Washburn. Adult chaperones are required for younger campers. Cost of the camp is $85 and $75 for chaperone. To ensure a spot it is recommended to register early, the camp is limited to 50 kids. A 75 percent refund will be allowed for cancellations made 10 days prior to camp. Child protection forms are available at local county extension offices and must be completed before coming to camp. Transportation is not provided.
