Williston Research Extension Center staff will host their annual field day on Thursday, July 10 at the center located 4½ miles west of Williston on highway two.

Coffee will be served at 9:00 a.m. (CDT), with a crops field tour to follow. North Dakota State University and Montana State University research and extension specialists plan to discuss small grain crop varieties, weed control and the foundation seed increase program.

A separate horticulture program will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Ernie French Center for those who enjoy flowers, lawns and gardens. This year’s featured topic is wine making.

At noon, participants will be served a barbequed chicken lunch sponsored by the Williston Chamber of Commerce Agricultural Committee and other area agribusinesses.

The afternoon program will start at 1:00 p.m. featuring a light bar guidance systems demonstration and alternative and high value crops review. The review will highlight field peas, chickpeas, canola, lentils and others.

The field day is expected to conclude around 4:00 p.m. The public is cordially invited to attend and participate in all field day activities.
