Crop Rotations to be Featured at Farm TourThe Conservation Cropping Systems Project (CCSP) demonstration-research farm will hold its first tour of the season at 5 p.m., July 10. The site is one mile south of Forman, N.D., at the junction of highways 32 and 11. The CCSP farm includes 11 no-till crop rotations at a site that contains heavy clay soils and receives more precipitation than other research farms of similar design, according to Julie Hassebroek, Sargent County Extension agent. Crops included in the various rotations are corn, soybean, spring wheat, winter wheat, canola and alfalfa. Farm manager Walt Albus will explain the rotations and management practices. He will also discuss challenges in establishing an adequate stand of corn planted in wheat, corn and soybean stubble following the cold and wet conditions of May and June. The tour will also feature presentations on intensive wheat management by Mitch Strom, Opti-Crop, and disease management by Marcia McMullen, North Dakota State University Extension plant pathologist. A meal will be provided following the conclusion of the tour. For more information, contact Hassebroek at (701) 724-3355. ### Source: Julie Hassebroek, (701) 724-3355,
