Anderson Announces Retirement

Sharon Anderson, after 33 years with the North Dakota State University Extension Service, has announced her retirement effective at the end of the year.

Anderson has been director of the Extension Service since January 1995.

She plans to spend more time with her family and do some consulting work after her retirement.

Her career with the Extension Service began in 1970. Through the years she served as a district director, program leader for youth and family, 4-H youth development specialist, and family and consumer science specialist.

Anderson served on the Extension Committee on Organization and Policy from 1996 to 1999 and was chair in 1999. She has been on the National 4-H Council Board of Trustees since 1997 and completed a term as vice chair in 2002. She was inducted into the National 4-H Hall of Fame in April of this year.
