Langdon Research Extension Center Field Days

The Langdon Research Extension Center will host an agricultural research field day on Thursday, July 17. The event begins at 8 a.m. with coffee then tours starting at 8:30. A complimentary lunch will be provided following the tours.

Producers will have an opportunity to discuss projects with station scientists and provide feedback before, during and after the tour. Participants will also see progress on the $1 million Vic Sturlaugson Learning Center scheduled to be completed in September.

Topics for the field tour include:

  • HRSW Breeding – Mohamad Mergoum, NDSU hard red spring wheat breeder
  • Barley Breeding – Jerry Franckowiak, NDSU two-rowed barley breeder
  • Durum Breeding – Elias Elias, NDSU durum breeder
  • New Crop Development – Burton Johnson, NDSU plant scientist
  • Row Crop Diseases – Carl Bradley, NDSU Extension Service plant pathologist
  • Cereal Crop Diseases – Marcia McMullen, NDSU Extension Service plant pathologist
  • Weed Control – Terry Gregoire, NDSU Extension Service cropping systems specialist
  • Intensive Wheat Management Research – John Lukach, Langdon Research Extension Center scientist
  • In-Field Spray Coverage Demonstration – Scott Halley, Langdon Research Extension Center plant protection scientist.

The Langdon Research Extension Center is located one mile east of Langdon on Highway 5.
