Conservation Planning for Technical Service ProvidersTechnical Service Providers who want to improve their skills should set aside Aug. 25 - 29 to take part in a Conservation Planning Course, a hands-on course designed to enhance the understanding of how to develop a conservation plan for producers. Two farms are involved with this course; one with a strong conservation plan already developed and one that needs a strong conservation plan. Participants will learn how to develop a Conservation Plan and how to conduct the inventory analysis. Presented by the North Dakota State University Extension Service and by the North Dakota Natural Resources Conservation Service staff, the course involves considerable time in the field. The program starts and ends at the NDSU Carrington Research Extension Center. The Center is located 3.5 miles north of Carrington on Highway 281. The course begins 1p.m., Monday, Aug. 25, and ends at noon on Friday, Aug. 29. A registration fee of $200 covers in-class meals, breaks, educational material, and the registration cost. Transportation to and from field sites will be provided. Pre-registration is required. The deadline for registration is Friday, Aug. 1. Rooms are available (make reservations) at the Chieftain Motor Lodge, (701) 652-3131, the Carrington Super 8 Motel, (701) 652-3982 or the Del-Clair Motel, (701) 652-3161. Registration is available on-line at www.ag.ndsu.nodak.edu/tsp/ or by contacting Becky Deckert, NDSU Extension Service, at (701) 231-5803. ### Source: Becky Deckert, (701) 231-5803,
