Advanced Crop Advisers Workshop Set for Feb. 19-20 in Fargo

The 12th annual Advanced Crop Advisers Workshop is scheduled for Thursday and Friday, Feb. 19 and 20, at the Holiday Inn in Fargo. The workshop is designed for agricultural professionals who advise farmers with crop production recommendations. The event is organized and conducted by the North Dakota State University and University of Minnesota Extension Services.

Registration is due by Feb 13. The fee for the program is $125 per person if received by Feb. 13. The late registration fee is $150. On Feb. 19, topics will include:

  • Understanding soil nitrogen and phosphorus cycling to enhance management of cropping systems,
  • Is satellite imagery another practical tool for crop advisers?
  • What experts are saying about soybean aphid and cyst nematode,
  • Sorting out soybean seed treatments and maximizing effectiveness of pyrethroid insecticides

On Feb. 20, topics will include:

  • Fungicide resistance: What are the threats?
  • Are deep or strip tillage viable options for the Northern Plains?
  • Are Roundup Ready cropping systems bullet-proof?
  • Diversification of weed management: At what cost?

Certified crop advisers (CCA’s) attending the workshop will have the opportunity to receive 10.5 continuing education units.
