April 1, 2004 Yearling Cattle Management Meeting Set For Killdeer A meeting on management of yearling cattle is scheduled for Tuesday, April 20, at the Buckskin Bar and Grill in Killdeer, N.D. The evening begins with dinner at 6 p.m. followed by the meeting at 7 p.m. Presenters are Donny Wald with Pfizer Animal Health and Greg Lardy, North Dakota State University associate professor and extension specialist in the Animal and Range Sciences Department. Wald will discuss parasite control in stocker/yearling cattle while Lardy’s topic is management of stocker/yearling cattle for optimum performance. Lardy will also update participants on the recent case of Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE) found in the U.S. and the proposed Country Of Origin Labeling (COOL) legislation. There is no cost to attend the meeting. Those planning to attend should RSVP the Dunn County Extension Office by April 16.
