April 29, 2004 Master Gardener Conference June 23 - 26 A conference for all Master Gardeners is set for June 23 - 26 at St. John's University in Collegeville, Minn. Registration forms and complete information is available at: www.mg.umn.edu/Tristateo/o20homepage.htm. Events kick off with an early evening registration at 5 p.m. on June 23, followed by a celebration barbecue at St. John’s. Thursday, June 24, will be spent on tours with dinner following at the St. John's cafeteria. At 7:30 p.m., Mary Meyer, University of Minnesota Master Gardener coordinator, will do a presentation on ornamental grasses for the Midwest. Friday and Saturday, June 25 and 26, will have a full slate of sessions for even the most dedicated Master Gardener such as Let's Talk Bugs: Good and Bad, Dahlias in the Garden, A Gardener's Tour of Japan, Honeybees and other Pollinators, Shade Gardening, and The Best Trees and Shrubs for the Midwest. Space is limited for dormitory rooms, so early registration is encouraged. This will be a very unique opportunity for North Dakota Master Gardeners to interact with other Master Gardeners from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, and South Dakota. It should be a fun and informative way to spend an evening and three days, says Ron Smith, horticulturist with the North Dakota State University Extension Service ### Source: Ron
