NDSU Animal and Range Sciences Welcomes New Faculty Member

The Department of Animal and Range Sciences at North Dakota State University is welcoming Kimberly Vonnahme to its faculty. Vonnahme’s field of specialization is reproductive physiology.

Vonnahme earned her bachelor’s degree at Iowa State University, her master’s at Oklahoma State University and her doctorate in reproductive biology from the University of Wyoming. She lists research in the area of fetal programming as her main interest. “Studies of this kind require data from large numbers of animals,” Vonnahme says. “In North Dakota, this can be accomplished through collaborative studies with outlying Research Extension Centers and local livestock producers.”

Vonnahme is a member of Sigma Xi, Gamma Sigma Delta, Society for the Study of Reproduction and American Society of Animal Science. Her work has been published in numerous refereed and non-refereed journals and publications.

“Vonnahme has received training in excellent programs at three different land-grant universities,” says Ken Odde, NDSU Animal and Range Sciences chair. “We are delighted that she has chosen to join NDSU.”
