July 15, 2004 ND State Board of Agricultural Research and Education Has Three New Members Three new board members have been approved by the North Dakota State Board of Higher Education to oversee agricultural research and Extension at North Dakota State University. The board named Rodney Howe, Robert Bahm and John Bollingberg to the North Dakota State Board of Agricultural Research and Education (SBARE). Howe will fill the remaining three years of a five-year term vacated by Vernon Mayer of Regent. Bahm and Bollingberg were appointed to full five-year terms ending in 2009. Howe operates a farm and ranch in partnership with his father near Hettinger. He currently serves and has served on several local and statewide organizations and has a long affiliation with NDSU research and Extension. Bahm, along with his wife Val and two children, operates a grain and cattle farm in Ward County. The family also raises and shows cutting horses in a four-state area. Since 1982, Bahm has owned and operated AgSoil Science Inc., a soil sampling and testing laboratory. He is a board member of the North Dakota Certified Crop Advisors and serves as chair of the Continuing Education Committee. He is a board director of the North Dakota Grain Growers Association and past chairman and current supervisor of the Ward County Soil District. Bollingberg farms near Bremen. He serves on the Carrington Research Extension Center advisory board and on the Agricultural Research Fund Corn Granting Committee. He has also served on the N.D. Dry Edible Bean Council. He recently returned from Washington D.C. where he lobbied Congress for oat research. The State Board of Agricultural Research and Education was established by the North Dakota Legislature in 1997 with responsibilities to oversee agricultural research and Extension at NDSU. ### Source:
