October 14, 2004 NDSU Schedules Horse Grooming, Fitting Event North Dakota State University’s Equine Science Program is holding its second equine educational event, a workshop on grooming and fitting horses, at the NDSU Equine Center in Fargo on Nov. 13. The Equine Science Program also will host two other equine educational events in the next few months – a horse judging weekend workshop Jan. 22-23 and partnership training at the second annual NDSU Horse Fair on April 16-17. All of the events are open to the public and will be at the NDSU Equine Center, which is at the North Dakota Horse Park, 5180 19th Ave. N. The fitting and grooming workshop runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participants will receive hands-on instruction on improving their skills in feeding, conditioning, grooming and presenting their horse. Nicky Overgaard, equine teaching specialist from the University of Minnesota, Crookston, is the instructor. Pre-registration is required. The number of participants is limited. The registration deadline is Nov. 1. The cost of the workshop is $25. NDSU and University of Minnesota, Crookston, students will be charged $15.
